Antique French Hand Wrought Game Hook  - French Kitchen Hook - One Piece Black Metal Slit into Four Hooks - Forge Made Hook - AQ66

We have for your delight and delectation !! - far better quality than the average hook - this wonderful wrought iron Game Hook was found in a flea market in Central France. Made towards the end of the 1700's by a skilled blacksmith using one single piece of iron to make this four-pronged hook.   Forged to a point creating a superb eye at the top to take the round hanging ring,  the plain square length of iron has been given a twisted waist and then split into four, rounded and pointed tines. It would cost a fortune and take many craftsman hours to produce such an item now. This hook would look great in a kitchen or could even be used for its original purpose should you with to hang game.

An hand forged item with an honest story that would lend character to a present day setting - the kind of 'steam punk' style that is loved by many.

The patina is just perfect - that well worn look that only comes with true age and constant use.
The tines are 250mm / 10" high, 112mm / 4.25" wide. The hook together with hanging ring weighs 0.25Kg or 0.6lb without packaging.
