Antique French Heavy Copper Pan and Lid - For Stove or Oven - Tin Lined Double Handled Saucepan - Antique Copper Casserole Pan - K401

This is very heavy gauge and large example of a copper casserole style saucepan. It is unusual to find the lid still with the pan of such age, we know it is an old example by the thickness or gauge of the copper as they do not make them like they used too.....

As you can see, we haven't fully polished the pan, other than a little tickle to leave some of its age and patina...................the brass handles have solid old rivets attaching them. This item came from the kitchen of a very old and large property in the city of Richelieu in central France. It was being totally gutted to be turned into apartments and we purchased a huge amount of the contents from the contracters.

The dimensions are 4.5" / 115mm high and the bowl has a diameter of 10" / 254mm. Weighing a hefty 2.2kg or just under 5lb.

This item is certainly usable as is and we would have no problem doing so ourselves.
