Three Original French Vintage Toys -  Bilboquet - Cup and Ball Games  .....  TG117

We have a small collection of three highly nostalgic children's toys; that's not to say adults cannot play with them too as we have had great fun with them in our family.
The set comprises a larger 9" or 220mm version, a medium 7.4" or 185mm and the smaller is 7" or 175mm. The weigh 300, 200 and 150 grms respectively and are each constructed from different types of hardwood. The larger one appears to have had a replacement cord.

The game has its origins in history - a person tries to catch the ball back onto the spike on top of
the handle that is attached by a cord.

These would make great display pieces or be loads of fun used for the purpose for which they were intended. Would make great film or theatre props as they could have originated any time from the medievel to the present day, and can seen all across Europe.
