UNIQUE UNFINISHED Vintage Bronze Sculpture Plaque of a Jaguar Head - Solid Bronze - Snarling Cat - Stylised Jaguar - Asian Style - C237

This is simply an amazing piece of sculpture, cast in solid bronze; a depiction of the head of a snarling Panther, Jaguar or other big cat - the style is modern oriental. This is an "unfinished" piece as usually there would be threaded screws in the back to allow for mounting on a wall or other surface. This casting has the 'lugs' on the back where you might expect the screws to be. 

This very attractive piece has been sand-cast and is not completely burnished; only the area at the neck has been polished to allow the bronze to shine - the remainder is still matt, from the casting. This is a very interesting piece - we don't have a history for it as the professional dealer we bought it from had left his assistant to do his purchase and he forgot to ask for any information - except that it was made in the 1960's.  But we think it is a beautiful piece with a slightly Japanese or Modern Asian look to it - a work in progress, a one-off item and a real talking point. 

The piece is 5.5" or 14cm in diameter and weighs a whopping one and a quarter kilograms without any packaging.
Your purchase will be very carefully packaged with recycled materials where possible and despatched via the Irish An Post postal service.
