Printed in the early to mid 1800's, these five superb posters were produced for the instruction of Officer Cadets following a decree on 16 December 1799 by Napoleon:
'LE LOI RELATIF A L'ORGANISATION D'ÉCOLE POLYTECNIQUE'.
The institution was to instruct cadets in Mathematics, Chemistry and Military Design for the French Army, French Navy and other French Military Regimes.
These are an incredibly rear find and highly sought after. Normally only seen in museums.
These five antique wall posters have illustrations detailing : how to form an attack; previous successful forms of attack; defence from attack; and formation of camp.
Attaque des Places Series E - Numbers 1, 2 and 4
Defense des Places Series E - Number 5
