Original French Art - Vintage French Painting - Modigliani style - Female Head and Shoulders of a Female - Unsigned DC3

A delightful piece of French Portraiture Art - a deft study of what appears to be a flapper girl. In an impressionist style, the woman is a striking subject with exaggerated features and an elongated face and has almost the look of a 'drag artist' with vivid red lipstick and thin black lined eyebrows. You might imagine that out of sight, she is holding a cigaette or cheroot in a very long cigarette holder. The portrait is unsigned, but dates from the early 1920s and is painted in oil on a thin sheet of wood. The frame is finished in a distressed silver colour - but this is not a painted effect, it is in fact the original frame in an original colour - the colour has simply been there for a long time. A definite talking piece; original French Impressionnist Art a century old.

Measuring 11.4" (29cm) high by 7.25" (28.5cm) wide and 0.75" (2cm) deep, the painting is on wooden board in oils. The painting shows signs of age and slight cracking of the paint over the smooth surface of the timber underneath as no under coat seems to have been applied. The framed image weighs 300 grammes without any packaging.
