Original oil on canvas by Irish artist Eilish O'Mahony of Louth, this is a rural study of sheep in a field. A single sheep looks over a fence above the wall of the field as the other of the flock continue to graze; it is winter as the tree is stripped of leaves but of course, in Ireland, the fields remain lush and green. The picture is painted in the artist's naive style, currently is in a modern frame and is in very clean condition and extremely eye-catching. This is one of our favourites; the lone sheep looking over the wall, painted in the Artist's special style looks absolutely adorable.
Eilish O'Mahony was originally from Portlaoise and has had several solo exhibitions around the country of Ireland; her preference is for local scenes. Her works can be seen in Slane Castle, Local Authority offices, the Australian Embassy in Ireland and in a Dubai Royal residence. Eilish sadly died in October, 2017. This original piece of Irish art would be ideal for anyone wishing to have a piece of art depicting the Irish countryside. It is in beautiful condition as can be seen on the photos and would be a good investment for a collector or a high quality starter piece. There are original hooks on the reverse of the frame with attached cord for hanging. It is 31cm or about 12" high by 36cm or which is about 14" wide.
