A beautiful original Oil painting on canvas by the artist Ferd Banuls, dated 1947, in the original frame. It depicts the titled "Notre Dame ses Bois a Pavilly" or Our Lady of the/her Pavilly Woods. This is really a very good depiction of this shrine in its woodland setting - a popular and peaceful site to visit during that time, after the long war years. It has a very stylish hand made multi layered frame 'of its time' that is in very good condition for its age.
This item would be ideal for anyone trying to create that French provincial look. It is in beautiful condition for its age as can be seen on the photo and would be a great addition to any collection or an impressive starter piece; although it is of the shrine, the painting is an accomplished work of art that can be appreciated with or without any religious connection.
