Original Parisian Art - Vintage French Painting - Oil on Wood Pairs and Grapes - Original Signed Still Life - Paul Dangman - DC7
A delightful piece of French Still life Art - a study of two pairs and a bunch of grapes oil on board.
Signed by the artist Paul Dangman who was born 1889 and died 1974, probably painted between the wars. He was well known for his impressionistic still lives and is well collected in France.
This is a very skilfully rendered image of two pairs one green the other more more russet along with a bunch of very dark grapes. The roughness of the background board just helps to enhance the Impressionistic nature of the painting.
Measuring 11.5" (290mm) high by 14.5" (372mm) wide and 1" (25mm) deep, the painting is oil on a wooden corse board that we often see around the end of the first world war when timber products were in short supply and framed in a typical decorated frame of the period, The framed image weighs 700 grammes without any packaging.
