A gorgeous example of an Antique Traditional Fifty-Nine Bead Rosary from France, made c.1910. The Rosary Beads are made from natural Antique Pink Coral, polished and fitted with golden chain links, expertly twisted at the medal and Crucifix. The Rosary Box is made by hand from two highly-polished Limpet Shells, with brass, hinged bindings and a simple closing clasp. An exquisite item that would be a memorable and treasured gift.

The Crucifix and the Centre medal are gold-finished, with an image of The Madonna on the centre medal in an Art Deco style. The Corpus Christi is joined to the golden crucifix by three tiny pins or rivets that go through to the back. Both the crucifix and the medal have a matt, plain gold finish to the underside. The coral beads are simply delightful, each one having the natural markings of the coral, each slightly different - yet the craftsman maker of this item has taken great care to ensure that all the beads are uniform and of the same shade of coral pink. This is both a Rosary and a precious piece of jewellery.

The Crucifix is 1.75" (4.5cm) in length and the shell box is 2.5" (just over 6cm) in diameter at the widest point. This is an antique item in Extremely Good Antique Condition; there is almost no sign of wear but there is some accumulated dust when viewed under a loupe; we would recommend that other than a simple clean with water and very mild detergent, any attempt at cleaning would be by a professional.
