Antique Irish or English Boot Trees - Wooden Boot Trees - Antique Boot Stretchers - English / Irish Hunting Boot Lasts - Boot Forms - FF100

These are a great tall pair of English or Irish "boot trees" or stretchers.
We purchased them here in Ireland so they are probably Irish but we cannot be certain as there is no makers mark. Made originally for Cavalry Officers or perhaps for a Hunters these boot stretchers are in good condition with obvious patina from years of use and handling when polishing the boots etc. We think these are made from Birch and date from the mid to end of the 1800's. The middle insertion pieces are topped with a large brass ring for pulling the centre out when ready to wear the boots but they also act as a very handy carrying handle.
They are marked with either R or L for right and left so obviously not French - as are the others we have listed. They would make great shop display or just use them for the original purpose they were intended.
The dimensions are 21" or 525mm high, heel to toe 11.5" or 290mm, foot width 3.5" or 90mm, calf width 4.5" or 115mm and 14.5" or 370mm around the calf. We are unsure of the exact size around a UK size 9 or ten. Each stretcher weighs a little over 6.6lbs or 3kg so 16lbs or 6kgs the pair.
As these are relatively heavy and long a large portion of the price is the cost of shipping that is included.

Your purchase will be very carefully packaged with recycled materials where possible and despatched via the Irish An Post postal service.
