Original Mid Century Irish oil on canvas painting - a rural study of horses in a field. The scene is of a chilly day; some of the branches on the trees are bare of leaves. Three horses stand near the bank of a river with misty hills in the background.

A wonderful rendition of a pastoral scene, this could possibly be a piece from a larger painting as the way the canvas is mounted on the rear of the frame and on on the usual stretchers one would normally find. 

The artist has signed at the bottom right hand corner, "Thomas" 56. 

There are modern silver metal eye hooks on the reverse of the frame with attached cord for hanging; the frame itself is original and is of a very lightweight wood with a pattern that is painted in a matt gold colour. 

It is 31cm or about 12" high by 36cm or which is about 14".
