An original, all-leather Vintage Tool or Brush set bag - at one time this was the "must-have" style of thick leather tool bag used by the railway, electricity and water companies. This genuine French Leather bag is marked with the name BROSSETTE OUTILLAGE. Brossette meaning brushes and outillage meaning tools - the tools used for the photographs are not included in this sale.

The bag is in good used Vintage condition and not having been used for fifty years or so, the leather has somewhat stiff - but it will soften again with use and care. As the leather is so thick, it will last for many, many more years.  It could also make a great centrepiece in a window display or similar for a hardware shop.    AND.......while it was intended for tools in a working environment, this is now an original and unique fashion-piece - a stunning Vintage Unisex Shoulder Bag.

All-leather with three strap and buckle closures, the heavy duty leather is reinforced with studs and stitching and rivets at each end to strengthen the body - you simply cannot get this kind of quality in today's market.                                     UNIQUE AND EXCEPTIONAL.

The leather is in completely original condition and shows signs of wear with has some character-building scuffs and scrapes; the overall colour is a rich, dark chestnut brown with black embossed printing. The closing straps are riveted on to the flap, which is finished all around with a leather, saddle-stitched binding. The shoulder strap is made of solid leather, 1.25" wide and there are five holes in the strap to adjust the length. The bag interior is the original unlined leather and has no compartments, except for a lining strip along the front behind the buckle fixings where there is a linen along the length of the bag, about 4.5" deep. The outer measurements of the bag are: 
Height 6.5" x width 17.5" x depth 6.5" (16.5 x 44.3 x 16.5cm).  Without any packaging this bag weighs 1.35kg.
