Vintage Irish Taxidermy - Two Cock Pheasants Strutt their Stuff - a Battle for the Ladies - Phasianus colchicus colchicu

Striking Vintage Irish Taxidermy: Two Large Cock Pheasants having a face-off ....  set onto a varnished wooden base, these two male Pheasants could just be sizing each other up, each thinking he is more handsome than the other. From the South of Ireland in the Nineteen Nineties, this pair came from a family in the Northern part of the Republic of Ireland, having been a gift to the Grandfather on his 70th Birthday. The gift was bought as 'Vintage' but we don't know the year, so have left it as the '90's, which is when the family bought it; it is older, but we don't know by how much.

The two male birds are both in good condition; each has slightly different colouring and both of them sport well developed ear tufts. A nicely presented pair, mounted on a block of varnished wood.

Dimensions including tail feathers are :- 116mm / 46” long,  460mm / 18” high and 180mm / 7.5” deep.

the dimensions of the wooden base are :- 400mm / 15.75" x 110mm / 4.3" x 35mm / 1.3" Without any packaging, the pair together with the base weigh 1.5 kilograms.
