STALAG 13b - WW2 Prison Camp - Numbered Edition Prints of Sketches by A DUCRET - Collection of 15 Prints in Card Case - AP1/25

In their original printed card case, this is a Numbered Edition collection of 15 printed sketches by A. Ducret - a series of sketches depicting the daily lives of prisoners within the camp STALAG 13b during the Second World war (1939 to 1945).  Humorous illustrations detail such tasks s collecting potatoes; washing and shaving; the morning wake up call; the roll call (no-one missing) etc., - all daily routines within the confines of the Prison of War Camp called Stalag 13b, near Weiden in Germany.  ( A fictional Stalag 13 was the base of the TV show Hogan's heroes).

The set is a selection of of a thousand sketches by Ducret and was printed and released by the Departmental Association of Prisoners of War with all profits going to the aid of Prisoners of war. Inside the back cover is a card section stamped by the Department of Indre et Loire in France, with the number of the set - No. 000975.

The cards measure nearly 6" high by 8.75" wide (15 x 22cm) and come within the folded card outer, lined with the stamped, numbered page. The card is a beige colour and all the cards (15) are in extremely good condition. The outer folded carton shows signs of use - slightly scuffed on the underside and with a tear at the top right inside corner. All in all, a set in very good Vintage Condition - an extremely interesting and poignant item with a great deal of untold history in its making. A great collector's item.
