Antique French F T -  Chrysantheme Badonviller Jug / Pitcher - Late 1800's  - French Ceramics - CH1/28

The history of the earthenware factory of Badonviller starts in 1828. In that year Nicolas Fenal became the owner of a pottery in Pexonne which was established in 1710. After his death in 1857 his sons and nephews took over the factory and the mark FF (Fenal Frères) was born.   In 1897, one of the nephews, Théophile Fenal, started an earthenware factory in Badonviller, in direct competiton to the factory of his family in Pexonne.

This is one of the first models produced by Théophile and is highly sought after. This is in the Chrysantheme or Chrysanthemum pattern. The decoration is in a pale, almost pastel blue that gives it a fantastic, ethereal look. It would bring that touch of France elegance to any room. A superb decorative piece.

The jug is in good antique condition with only a tiny chip to the front of the lip. It stands 6" / 150mm high, 8.5" / 220mm long, 7.25" / 185mm wide and weighs 0.8kg.

Your purchase will be very carefully packaged with recycled materials where possible  and despatched via the Irish An Post postal service.
