Antique Riding Boots : Master of the Hunt Riding Boots - with Original Spurs - Antique Leather Hunt Boots - FF2/76

Super stylish, antique boots. From France, dating from the beginning of the last century, these bespoke boots were made for the Master of the Hunt - from the best leather, by the. best boot-makers and fitted with the best spurs. In exceptionally good condition, they are still wearable today, though we find it difficult to judge the size. Made with a very slim fit for a long, slim foot, we estimate the size to be around size 7-8 in the US, or size 6-7 in the UK. The heels have worn down but can easily be re-heeled in leather. From heel to toe the outer sole measures 11" or 23cm. The broader part of the sale measures 3.75" or 9.75cm. They wear 1kg each, including spurs. The height of the boot is 15" or 38cm. The spurs project from the back of the boot by about 2" or 5cm.

The boots have been very well cared for, resulting in their exceptional condition today. Completely made of supple leather, this would have to be softened if they are to be worn again; the lack of wear over the last many years has resulted in the leather becoming stiffer, though still with that brilliant shine that the owner gave them.

The knee length boots carry the tan leather band around the top, over pure black leather uppers. The leather lining of the boots has the original linen pull-on straps intact inside. The spurs with buckle are made entirely of silver metal and WE HAVE INCLUDED TWO SUPPLE LEATHER STRAPS THAT JOHN MADE, to hold the spurs in place. The soles are made from leather, nailed in.  This is an extraordinary set, very rarely does a complete set come on to the market in useable condition.
