Beautiful '70s Bronze Sport Medal by Belanney - French Vintage Medal - Bronze Medal for Clay or Skeet Shooting - MT2/13

This finely designed, heavy Bronze medal from 1970s France, has a very striking design - a figure with a long barrelled shotgun who has just taken a successful shot at a 'Clay Target" or "Clay Pigeon". A table beside him holds shotgun cartridges for the next rounds.

Clay, or Skeet shooting is a growing sport where the skill of the sport is evident without harming any birds or animals. A very popular sport with the growing number of people who promote animal welfare and would object to harming animals for any reason - especially sport.

This medal would be a fine gift or trophy for any person demonstrating skill in the sport at any level, either individually or perhaps at a gun club. Made for the French market, the medal is made of heavy, cast bronze with aFrench 'Bronze' stamp in the side. The reverse has a border or laurel and Oak leaves, for a champion; the centre has been left blank for engraving.  The medal is in very good, vintage condition. The medal is 2" or 5cm in diameter and weighs under 100 grams.
