Hand Forged Phoenix French Curtain Tie-Backs from a Chateau - French Folk Art - D1/140

A unique pair of curtain tie-backs, previously used in a Chateau on the Loire Valley, that have been hand-forged in this naive style. Not only are they useful but they are pieces of folk-art from the Loire Region of France.
They are in the shape of a stylised Phoenix with a plume on his head. The price is for THE PAIR.

They have been painted black and do show some signs of wear, giving them an extra depth of character. They are for wall mounting on a recessed wall or bay window, original they had a sturdy length of over one and a quarter inches of steel that had been set into the wall, unfortunately making them unsuitable for modern homes, we have therefor taken them into the workshops and removed the pin and welded on a more user friendly fixing. These are one-off items; certainly statement pieces to give your curtains a bespoke uplift! Alternatively they could be fixed to a wall to hand or drape things over, or install simply as unique pieces of original art.

Each is bird is 6"/150mm wide by 5"/125mm high and 4.5"/110mm deep with each weighing just under 0.5kg.
